Of course, Thanksgiving is family time. Carolyne gives Lalena a big hug. It's a lovely time of year at The Land because the summer heat is a memory so we can more readily enjoy roasting marsh mellows over the fire in the evening.

|
That's exactly what Lalena is doing here. Below left from foreground back is me, David, sister Sylvia, and Carolyne. Directly below nephew Daryl, mesmerized by the fire, pets 'his' dog Little Man. |
|
We were very pleased to have Carolyne's sister, Patty & her husband Ira, visit us from Bainbridge Is., WA this year this year. One of our activities was hiking in the forest. If you want to take the short trip with us, click here. To return to this page, close the window or use links provided there. |

Lalena
learned 4-wheeling while here. She's riding Sylvia's Honda. We purchased
one of our own later on and have come to depend on it for many chores
around the place. |

Ira reads
and I'm probably watching TV here. What's interesting to me is how clear
this picture indicates the temperature preferences of those from the NW
coast and those from southeast Texas. |

The following
few photos don't do Groveton, TX much justice, but do reflect some of
the artistic and humorous side along with the ravages of time. |

This photo of Lalena was taken after we returned to Houston. I just like it.
